Kedarnath Yatra
KEDARNATH
Amidst the dramatic mountains capes of the majestic Kedarnath range stands one of the twelve 'Jyotirlingas' of Kedar or Lord Shiva. Lying at an altitude of 3584 mts. on the head of river Mandakini, the shrine of Kedarnath is amongst the holiest pilgrimages for the Hindus. According to legend, the Pandava sought the blessings of Lord Shiva to atone their sins after the battle of Mahabharata. Lord Shiva eluded them repeatedly and while fleeing took refuge at Kedarnath in the form of a bull. On being followed, He dived into the ground, leaving behind his hump on the surface. This conical protrusion is worshipped as the idol in the shrine. The remaining portions of Lord Shiva are worshipped at four other places - the arms (bahu) at Tungnath, mouth (mukh) at Rudranath, navel (nabhi) at Madmaheshwar and hair (jata) at Kalpeshwar. Together with Kedarnath, these places are known as the Panch Kedar.

Day 01: Delhi-Haridwar (205 kms/6 hrs)
Drive to the City of Ganges-Haridwar. In the evening go to Har ki Pauri to attend the evening Aarti at River Ganges.
Overnight at hotel.
Day 02: Haridwar-Rudraprayag (165 kms/6 hrs)
After breakfast, drive to Rudraprayag enroute visiting Devprayag. Continue your drive to Rudraprayag.
Overnight at hotel.
After breakfast, further drive to Gaurikund. Later trek towards Kedarnath. Later transfer to an Ashram. After freshen up, go for Darshan at Shri Kedarnathji and offer praying. In the evening visit Adi Shankaracharya Samadhi behind the temple.

Day 04: Kedarnath- Gaurikund -Rudraprayag
In a beautiful morning, trek back to Gaurikund and later drive back to Rudraprayag.
Overnight at hotel.
After breakfast drive back to Rishikesh enroute visiting Dhari Devi Temple. Later stop for lunch at Srinagar. Later reach Rishikesh. Overnight at hotel.
Day 06: Rishikesh-Delhi (234 kms)Attend the morning Aarti, visit Laxman Jhula and Ram Jhula, and drive back to Delhi to catch your flight/train towards onward destination.
