Airport Transfer in AmritsarAmritsar International Airport, also known as Raja Sansi International Airport, is 11 km from the city of Amritsar, India. The airport serves not only the city of Amritsar, but also the greater Punjab area. Raja Sansi International Airport is named after and in honors of Maharaja Ranjit Singh's family name - Sansi.

Amritsar Airport was recently refurbished. Newly finished Arrival and Departure Terminals were inaugurated in March 2006.As a government designated international airport; the airport currently handles about 100 commercial flights a week, both international and domestic.

Money and communications:

A post office and a bank are available in the arrivals area of the international terminal. There is also a bank branch in the departures area. Internet access is available in the international terminal.

Eating and drinking:

There are restaurants in the departure area of the international terminal as well as snack bars and tea and coffee vending machines.

Shopping:

There is a duty-free shop in the departure area of the international terminal. Shops selling books, gift items and mobile phones are available in both terminals.

Luggage:

There is lost and found office in the international terminal.

Other facilities:

A medical facility is available. The airport has dormitory accommodation and retiring rooms available for transit passengers.
